Surgical Removal of the Larynx - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing

This custom medical exhibit shows two comparative cut-away of the head and neck. The first image illustrates and labels normal anatomy highlighting with colored arrows the passage of food and air into the body. Comparatively, the second image reveals the same processes after a full resection of the proximal larynx and vocal cords. Shown is the creating of a post-operative stoma (opening) creating a new pathway for air to reach the lungs.
