This full color medical-legal illustration displays the normal anatomy of the lower leg and the rupture of the achilles (calcaneal) tendon. Labels the calcaneus and achilles tendon, the latter of which arises from the gastrocnemius (calf) and soleus muscles. The third picture describes the post-accident condition with the ruptured achilles tendon, from a lateral view.
